C. cornuta

Marzae Sauvage wines are inspired by the edible flora & fauna of New England. C. conuta (beaked hazelnut) is both uniquely fitting for this wine and unique to New England. This is our Georgian-inspired orange. Lot's of skin contact, deep orange color, and extended aging in terracotta amphora. The 2023 was full of dried apricot & piney spice while the 2024 seems peachier. This wine develops a thick flor (surface fermenting yeast synonomous with sherry) during aging, imparting nutty character—hence the name.
