S. nigra is our delicately perfumed, juicy orange inspired by alpine orange wines from Slovenia, Austria, and beyond, but made with local grapes. Named after elderflower for it’s aromatic bouquet, the first vintage came out heavily muscat in character, while the 2024 is more subtle and dappled with minerality. Despite extended skin contact, this is a quite light orange wine—we hesitate to say entry level orange wine that’ll appeal to white wine drinkers just because it’s so fabulous, but there is something in it for everyone. This wine has been available in some of the world’s premier wine bars and we’ve had customers by it by the case full, making it one of our signiture wines!
