V. labrusca

Originally conceived as a nouveau-style wine in the 2023 vintage, this fermentation and its fans had different plans in mind for the future of the label. Named after fox grape/the wild relatives of Concord grapes for the punchy fruity flavors, V. labrusca also sounds a lot like the Italian wine “Lambrusco.” And, well, the juicy full carbonic fermentation of red grapes with a bit of actual sour cherry does remind us of Lambrusco as well. So, we tweaked the production plans and made it into a sparkling red in 2024. Based on the 2023 cuvée’s cult following, and the 2024 being even better and with a fizz, we fully expect this to be one of our most popular an iconic wines in the lineup.
