Most of what we make are co-ferments, whether that’s multiple grape varieties or involving other fruit as well, because we think it makes for great wine that’s often more interesting than the individual components. Some special grapes are certainly worth exploring as individual varietals though. New in the 2024 vintage, our Varietal Studies line strives to showcase the potential of different grape varieties in our region.
Our First Varietal Studies Release—Coming Spring/Summer 2026
You’ve probably never had East Coast Gamay cause there’s not a lot of it grown (it’s got a super early bud break and pretty high susceptability to fungal disease making it risky to grow), but Northeast Gamay is something special. It’s got all the juicy, fruitiness it’s famous for, with a bit of extra edgy complexity. This’ll be a wine to stock your fridge with for the summer next year! Unsulfited so best consumed in one sitting.
What we taste:
Red cherry & sweet almond | white pepper

Traminette is a Gewürztraminer hybrid that produces very similar wines, with slightly enhanced aromatics that give it very pronounced varietal characteristics. Skin contact is a great way to showcase many of those punchy lychee-like aromatics, and we opted for a reductive aging process on the lees to help accentuate minerality and spice to balance out the floral, fruity elements. The results also feel reminiscent of trebbiano to us. Unsulfited so best consumed in one sitting.
What we taste:
rose | passion fruit | saline | ginger
